The National Academic Colloquium 2016 is jointly organized by the Academic Affair Division of UiTM, i-Learn Centre of UiTM, and Open Learning. With vast experiences in organizing research on e-learning since 2007, UiTM has well established collaborations in manifesting 21st century learning with and through technology, namely MEIPTA, AKEPT, Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Open Learning Centre (SEAMOLEC) Indonesia, Indonesia Open University, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Society of Digital Information and Wireless Communications (SDIWC) and the Technical University of Ostrava in Czech Republic. The collaboration with Open Learning in National Academic Colloquium this year creates another synergy as Open Learning is recognized as Malaysia’s top MOOC platform. With the aim to provide a medium to share innovations and the best practices to improve teaching and learning, particularly in the use of MOOC as a platform, this colloquium focuses on the approaches to interactive learning, the ecologies of learning communities, and the development and use of open educational resources. This colloquium lines up the experienced MOOC instructors from Malaysian Higher Institutes of Learning. A masterclass workshop with Prof. Dr Richard Buckland is offered on the second day of the colloquium to provide extensive opportunities for rich exchanges of ideas and first-hand experience in designing MOOC courses.
